- Just logging in wouldn't show someone is active on the server, maybe make it so you don't get up power by 'afking', so not by time, but by doing other things such as pvping for example, there could still be a very small time (like 1+ power every 1 hour), but getting up power shouldn't be an afk chore.
I don't believe you can do this with factions... It sure would be nice, though.

| Or laser could lower the faction minimum power. Maybe to 30-50? So you can't keep dying, even in a huge faction. | |

That would work well and I'm pretty sure it's possible.

That would work well and I'm pretty sure it's possible. There's one MAJOR problem with that. Most factions don't have more than 5 members and If one random person says "Hey, lemme join ur faction!" and they do, and then they die down to -50 and have a friend claim all the faction land.. 90% of factions would lose ALL of their land and all of their stuff. Not to mention the double death bugs that happen every once in a blue moon, and just newbish players in general.

Not to mention the double death bugs that happen every once in a blue moon, and just newbish players in general. This is a good point. It would be way too easy to exploit something like this.

| -50 Yeah, maybe not.
But I think -15 or something would work well.

But I think -15 or something would work well. And it could, but it would still be easily exploitable by enemy factions. Especially if there wasn't a cap on players. By limiting the amount of players, (20 actives in one faction is quite a few.) we avoid that problem entirely. The reason this isn't favorable to some players is because those players belong to larger factions, and enjoy owning half of the area around spawn.

Another idea to consider, instead of lowering the amount of total power per player, what if I set more power loss per death?
Increasing the amount of power lost on death doesn't solve the problem of too many players.. (Just because someone gets to -10 in 2 deaths, if they're the only one online and they have 20 more players power, they're still only reducing the total power of the faction by 20)
I have 2 thoughts on how to fix this, First of which.. Is increasing the rate at which people lose power while Also Increasing the negative cap to say -20.. This way, If someone dies too much, they instead lose their power, and counteract 2 additional players worth of power while also capping the amount of players at 20 per faction.. This way 5 players could effectively bring a 20 person faction to 0. Also, People would have to be much more careful about the amount of times they died, but.. it would make recovering from a full-death take much longer..
Second is having power decrease every day (or every other day) for everyone.. This would do two things.. First, players would have to log in daily.. or they'd start losing their land.. Second, People with many many alts inflating their power would have to log them on every day and play for a couple minutes with each to keep their land. Which would be a huge hassle.. (Also, inactive factions would lose power faster and their land would be able to be reclaimed a bit faster)
Side note: One of the main things that annoyed me was running around exploring at the map and a lot of the raidable bases were claimed and I never saw the people who owned them online.. And there wasn't really a timer or anything on when the faction would be disbanded.
Faction members are auto-kicked after 2 weeks of inactivity. If the last person in the faction is kicked, the faction is disbanded. I am pretty sure there is a setting for something like daily power decay but it was brought up before and many were against it. So what does everyone think about that now? Like say you lose 1 power every day you don't log in or something to that effect.

My faction is away for summer but they are only able to log in once or twice a week. Ii think this is a problem with the bigger faction like evolve and all their alts. We have to keep our power in the + but they dont. I remember when most of evolves most active players had - power but they had like 40 other people in their faction. And laser some people cant log in everyday they got other things to do.

Some of this can be solved by setting a decimal as the value for the amount of power lost per day. Such as, Setting the power loss per day to .75, it would make it that in 14 days they'd lose 10.5 power. That way a person could be offline for a day, and not lose any power, but if they're offline for 2 days they lose 1 power (as long as it doesn't round up).

Heh, I looked into how it is calculated.. and it's in many many little bits over a long period of time (probably to reduce lag from updating all the users at once). So, instead of being 2 days for 1 power loss.. it would be 30 hours.. 90 hours for 3 power is about 6 hours shy of 4 days.
