V-clip is illegal, but there's no point in denying that it's used.

Like the poster above me said, there's no point in moping about it. Instead, you can make your base v-clip proof.

Make at least five layers of a solid block of your choice on top of your base, covering your entire roof, with a layer of air inbetween each one. That should stop any and all v-clipping, though you shouldn't be stingy on the layers. I would suggest using obsidian.
