Reasons to not ally with everyone and enemy with everyone:

1. So people can't tp out of battle when you're owning the shit out of them.

2. So people can't sethome in your territory.

3. So people can be killed in their faction.

4. Because the majority of allies would probably betray you if they had the chance to.
