I have no idea why so many people build grinders, I just found a double mob spawner and used it. Anyways that was a good raid with lots of carnage and destruction of still-claimed propriety.

I have no idea why so many people build grinders, I just found a double mob spawner and used it. Anyways that was a good raid with lots of carnage and destruction of still-claimed propriety.
Well, the main purpose is because (I'm not totally sure if this is still the case, but I know that it was) mob spawner cubes don't give mcmmo experience from the monsters you kill.
Based on that, a lot of people build grinders to have something to level their mcmmo combat skills quickly with.

EDIT: Its a bit glitchy, I would say about 1/4th the time I get mcmmo experience from killing them.
